Step by step guide to build your set list and make sure you declare your covers to PRS
You must inform us when you have done a cover or performed a song that is registered with PRS. We will deduct 15% from the Gross Monies and pay the publishing rights, this makes everything legal and gives you the freedom to perform all your favourite songs.
It is very easy to do, we will ask you once your stream has finished if you performed any songs registered for PRS. If you did not perform any songs that fall into this category then you can select no and we will not add the PRS fees.
Creating a Lounge when performing Licensed Music
When creating your live-stream event, your Lounge, you must confirm whether you are performing Licensed Music, or only originals.
When your performance ends or your are uploading on-demand content you will build the songs set list, it is all very easy.
But you don't need to wait until your event finish, you can visit your dashboard, view 'My Live Events' , click on 'More' >> 'View Details' and then go to 'Edit My Set List'
Responsibility of Creators
Creators are required to notify the platform before or immediately after their Lounge stream, but not later than 12 hours after, about all musical works that will be included in their performance.
Fees for PRS Controlled Music
Lounges.tv charges a fee of 15% of Gross Monies for Live and On-demand content that involves PRS controlled music. This fee is associated with the use of such music within the platform.
Copyright Infringement and Reporting
Creators must be diligent in reporting licensed songs to avoid copyright infringement. Failing to do so can have legal consequences. It's crucial to respect the rights of songwriters, composers and music publishers.
PRS Registration and Back Claims
If a creator's own work, such as an original song, is registered with PRS, they may have the option to back claim with PRS. Creators can find more information on this process through the PRS web platform's members portal. It's important to note that Lounges does not take responsibility for any back claims made by creators.
Music Licensing for Non-PRS Members
If you are not registered with PRS or a similar collecting society and opt-out of music licensing deductions confirm either that they are not performing any content requiring PRS licensing or that they have made their own lawful licensing arrangements.
I am a DJ can I perform on Lounges?
