How does limited participants work on Lounges.tv?

Do you want to make your event more exclusive? Here is how you can put a cap on the number of attendees for your Lounge

Much like physical events, creating exclusive streams with only a certain amount of viewers allowed can be a great strategy for promotion. While livestream breaks a lot of barriers and limits with regards to audience, sometimes keeping your event intimate can help you foster a sense of community within your viewers and can potentially warrant a higher entry price.

Or perhaps you have a logistical limit on your content; this might be because you are teaching a class and can only interact with so many at one time.

If you so choose, Lounges allows you to limit the tickets available for sale, meaning there will be a cap on how many viewers are able to get a ticket and tune in for this specific event.

How to add a viewer limit:

Ensure you that are logged in first, you can then create your exclusive event by:

    1. Clicking on  the "Create" button in the navigation on the top right corner of the main page
    2. Select "Create a Live Stream"
    3. Fill out the form provided with as much detail as possible and go to the "optional advanced settings" area.
    4. You can now change the viewer limit by typing your selected number of viewers in the selected box shown below:

Please note, you will be able to edit this later on if you've already created the event or if you want to upgrade the participant limit. Check out how to edit your Lounge event with this article: link.

The case of "unlisted" (or private) events

Should your audience limitation be less about creating a sense of exclusiveness and more so a logistical choice, you might want to set your event as an "unlisted" one. This means only the people who will have received the event link, will be able to see its page and access the stream. The event won't be featured on the platform for the public nor will it appear on your profile page.

    The case of "multiple-way stream"

Another feature of Lounges is the possibility of bringing viewers "on stage" so that you can interact with them directly. It also permits having streams with multiple hosts or multiple participant actively partaking in the event (i.e. with their camera on). It can be useful in the case of classes or other occasions that require a less crowded and active audience. In this case, before you set-up your participant limit, please note that you can bring on stage up to 20 people at the same time.
