Competition is for all musicians: showcase your creativity by submitting a 30 sec unique rendition of a pop chart-topper. Instrumental covers with or without vocals welcome.
Contest Rules
- The Showcase – Instrumental Re-Make Challenge promotion (‘Promotion’) is organised by Lounges (as defined in the General Prize Promotion Terms and Conditions). The Promotion will run from 24 April 2024 00:01 BST to 26 May 2024 23:59 inclusive on Lounges Showcase App.
- IMPORTANT: The Promotion is subject to these Contest Rules and the General Prize Promotion Terms and Conditions (together, the ‘General Prize Promotion Terms and Conditions’). Entry into the Promotion constitutes acceptance of these Contest Rules and the General Prize Promotion Terms and Conditions.
Details of the Promotion:
- App entry for the first 100 eligible entries, will open on 24 April 2024 00:01 BST and close on 26 May 2024 23:59. Entries received before or after this time, or entries received after the first 100 eligible entries will not be included in the Promotion.
- To enter the Promotion, you must download the Lounges app, login or register your details and upload your performance video. Craft a 30-second rendition of a chart-topper with a unique twist. Whether you're strumming a guitar, tickling the ivories, or rocking the drums, your instrumental cover—enriched with vocals if you wish—must captivate and innovate. This isn't just about replication; it's about reimagining. Surprise us with your interpretation, infusing your style, flair, and personality into the melody that's already set the charts on fire.
- Videos must have a maximum duration of 30 secs. All content submissions will be moderated and may be rejected if found to contain any of the following:
- Hate speech: Content that promotes discrimination, violence, or hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
- Violence and gore: Content depicting graphic violence, injury, or death.
- Sexual content: Explicit sexual content, pornography, or sexually suggestive material.
- Harassment and bullying: Content intended to harass, intimidate, or humiliate individuals or groups.
- Illegal activities: Content that promotes or depicts illegal activities, including but not limited to drug abuse, terrorism, and criminal behaviour.
- Misinformation: Content containing false or misleading information that could cause harm or deceive users.
- 3rd party logos or product promotion. Submissions which feature overt branding materials, EG overly prominent brand logos or that serve to promote a third-party brand may be rejected.
- Once a submission has passed moderation, it becomes eligible for entry, proving all other terms and conditions have been met.
- Eligible participants will be invited to complete a short user experience survey. Participants that complete the survey will have a greater chance of winning the contest as outlined in 9.
- Within 30 days of the closing time of the Promotion, all eligible entries will be judged and awarded points score in accordance with the following judging process, by a panel of suitably qualified judges and overseen by an independent adjudicator.
- Technical ability: Instrumental ability. The quality of the contestant's technical ability and expression. And / or the quality of their playing technique. Score weighting (40%)
- Originality: The contestant's ability to convey emotion, storytelling, and connection to the song. Score weighting (35%)
- Overall Performance: the contestant's ability to connect with the text (song), convey emotion and storytelling. This includes but is not limited to the contestant’s delivery, charisma, confidence, engaging appearance etc. Score weighting (25%)
- In the event of a tie, the contestant with the highest score in the Musicality / technical ability category will be declared the winner. If there is still a tie, the judges will deliberate and collectively decide the winner based on overall performance and potential.
- Any submissions made by participants who also completed the user experience survey will receive 5% bonus points. The submission with the highest overall points score will be selected as the winner.
- The winner will be contacted by one of our representatives via email OR telephone on the telephone number on which you entered. If such winner does not respond within 30 days from being contacted, they will forfeit their right to the prize, and we shall be entitled to select another winner from the next highest score and so on. That subsequent winner must respond to the notification email within 7 days of the date on which they are notified, or they will also forfeit the prize.
- One winner will win: £200 e-gift voucher from Kenny’s Music store.
- In addition to the e-gift voucher the winner will be invited to participate to a future Lounges Talent Showcase, the time and location and full details of will be advised in due course.
- In relation to winners (and runners up if applicable), you understand that we may: (i) interview you and your guest(s)/travel companion(s) which we may film, photograph and/or record and; (ii) film, photograph and/or record, you and your guest(s)/travel companion(s) in connection with the Promotion, either by telephone or in person, and we may use such films, recordings and/or photographs for publicity and PR purposes in any and all media, worldwide, as often and for as long as we consider appropriate or desirable, in connection with the Promotion. We may also publish your and your guest(s)/travel companion(s) name, image, social media handle and/or profile picture.
- The Promotion is only open to residents of the UK aged 16 and over, and who are resident in the UK. For any winner aged under 18 we reserve the right to request parental or guardian consent and may require the completion of a release form.
- Entry is restricted to one entry per person; duplicate entries will be excluded from the Promotion.
- Any other costs and expenses which are not specifically included in the prize description are excluded and will be the sole responsibility of the winner.
- The prize is non-transferable and non-refundable.
- We reserve the right to substitute the prize with another prize of equal or greater value at our absolute discretion.

- By entering a Promotion, you acknowledge that any personal data provided by you in connection with the Promotion will be processed as set out above and in accordance with our Privacy Policy which sets out full details of how we process personal data and how you can exercise your rights as a data subject. Please ensure you have read and understood our Privacy Policy before entering any Promotion. If you are required to submit another person’s personal data to enter a Promotion, you must ensure that you have their consent to provide us and our Promotion Partner with their personal data.
- You may be asked if you want to opt-in to marketing from us when you enter a Promotion. If you choose to opt-in, we will use your personal data for marketing purposes (see Lounges Privacy Policy for more details). You can withdraw your consent to marketing at any time by unsubscribing.
- We will hold your personal data for a period of up to 3 years in order to comply with our regulatory obligations.
- You may request the removal of your personal details from our database by contacting help@Lounges . If you request that your personal details, be removed prior to the conclusion of a Promotion, you will forfeit your right to enter the Promotion and/or claim any prize and we reserve the right to select another entrant to participate in the Promotion or withdraw the prize and select another winner, as applicable.

- The Promoter

- The competition
2.1 The title of the competition is shown on the Competition details page.
- How to enter
3.1 The competition will run for a fixed time period as shown on the Contest Rules page.
3.2 All competition entries must be received by no later than the Closing Date and Time. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
3.3 To enter the competition you must use the Lounges.tv mobile app and submit your entry via the entry feature by the Closing Date.
3.4 No purchase necessary and there is no charge to enter the competition.
3.5 The Promoter will not accept:
(a) responsibility for competition entries that are corrupted, incomplete, lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
(b) proof of transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.
3.6 By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions and the Full Terms and Conditions of our Website.
3.7 The competition entries will be judged based on the Contest Rules. The decision of the panel of judges will be final and additional information will not be shared.
- Eligibility
4.1 The competition is only open to all residents in the UK aged 16 years or over, except:
(a) employees of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies.
(b) employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or
(c) members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.
4.2 In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
4.3 The entry must be your own. You cannot submit the work of somebody else. You cannot submit an entry if the videos display visuals of somebody else unless provided you sent us consent form from such individuals.
4.4 You must follow the rules of the contest Rules to ensure 100% of the copyright in the video and any other material (including but not limited to the sound recording, musical composition and lyrics, video and any artwork or visuals) that you send to us is covered.
4.5 You must not send any illegal or harmful content. Please refer to the community guidelines on our website.
4.6 The Promoter will not accept competition entries that it reasonably believes fail to meet any of the above eligibility criteria.
4.7 There is a limit of one entry to the competition per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted.
4.8 The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.
4.9 You will retain ownership of your entry but please note that competition entries cannot be returned.
4.10 Your entry may be rejected if it does not meet the requirements or criteria of the Contest Rules.
4.11 Your entry will be rejected if displaying watermarks, logos, or referencing other companies including social media and streaming platforms.
4.12 Your entry may be rejected if used for promotional purposes of products or services.
- The prize
5.1 The prize is stated on the specific competition details page.
5.2 Unless stated otherwise, the prize does not include any additional expenses including travel, accommodation, food and drink or personal expenses. Any other costs incurred in addition to those set out above and that are incidental to the fulfilment of the prize are the responsibility of the winner.
5.3 There is no cash alternative for the prize. The Promoter reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Promoter's control makes it necessary to do so.
5.4 The prize is not negotiable or transferable.
- Winner
6.1 The decision of the judges nominated by the Promoter is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
6.2 The Promoter will contact the winner as soon as practicable after the Announcement Date, using the telephone number or email address provided with the competition entry.
6.3 You may be required to provide your name and address. In such circumstances, the Promoter must provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
- Claiming the prize
7.1 If you are the winner of the prize, you will have 30 days from the Announcement Date to claim the prize by responding to the email from the Lounges.tv team. If you do not claim the prize by this date, your claim will become invalid.
7.2 The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
7.3 The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available or has not claimed their prize within 30 days of the Announcement Date, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date.
7.4 The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.
- Limitation of liability
Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
- Ownership of competition entries and intellectual property rights
9.1 You agree that the Promoter, partners, and sponsors may, but is not required to, make your entry available on its website and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the competition. You agree to grant the Promoter and media partners a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the competition entry and any accompanying materials, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the competition entry and any accompanying materials for such purposes.
- Data protection and publicity
10.1 The Promoter will only process your personal information as set out in the privacy policy on our website. See also condition 6.3 and condition 6.4, with regard to the announcement of winners.
- General
11.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
11.2 The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
11.3 These terms and conditions are governed by English law. If any entrants to this promotion wish to take court proceedings, then they must do this within the courts in the United Kingdom.
