Promotion Terms & Conditions

1. The “Rockstar Showdown” competition (‘Promotion’) is organised by Lounges.tv. The Promotion will open on 20th January 2025 and the last date for entry is 6th March 2025 inclusive on Lounges.tv Showcase App. The promotion will also be featured by our media partners (‘Promotion Partner’). Feature may include but not be limited to coverage within media partners newspapers, and social media channels operated by media partners.   

1. IMPORTANT: The Promotion is subject to these Promotion Terms and Conditions. Entry into the Promotion constitutes acceptance of the Promotion Terms and Conditions. Please retain a copy for your information.  

 

Details of the Promotion: 

 

1. App entry will open at 10:00am Monday 20th January 2025 and close at 12:00pm on 6th March 2025 for promotion entries. Entries received before or after this time will not be included in the Promotion. 

1. To enter the Promotion, you must download the Lounges.tv app, login or register your details and upload your Rockstar Showdown performance video during the promotional period. If you do not have an account, you will need to create one in order to participate – you will require an active email address in order to do this and will be required to create a username and display name. 

1. Your Rockstar Showdown performance video must feature you performing your song or instrumental piece entry. It must be an original song and composition: ownership of song lyrics or music composition, performance and music rights must be vested in you. Any co-writers or performers must also be unpublished and not be featured during the entry. You must be unsigned to a record label or music publisher. 

1. The promotion includes specific dates and prize elements that require participation of promotion finalists and the overall winner. It is a requirement of accepting any prize that you must be available to participate in date specific activities relating to promotion of your song and you as an artist as detailed in clauses 20 and 28. 

1. The Promotion is only open to residents of the UK aged 16 and over. In the event that an eligible entrant aged between 16 and 18 is selected for progression in the later stages of the contest and/or their entry is selected for promotion across Lounges.tv or the Promotion Partner’s channels, we will require specific consent of a parent or legal guardian for inclusion in the contest. 

1. No purchase necessary. Internet access required.  

1. Entries are restricted to one entry per person; any form of duplicate entries will be excluded from the Promotion at the Promoter’s discretion. 

1. The entry must be your own. You cannot submit the work of somebody else. You cannot submit an entry if the videos display visuals of somebody else unless you have provided us with a consent form from such individuals. The Promoter reserves the right to verify entries and disqualify any that in their opinion is not original or where ownership and signing cannot be confirmed to their satisfaction. The Promoter’s decision is final.  

1. You must follow the rules of the promotion to ensure 100% of the copyright in the video and any other material (including but not limited to the sound recording, musical composition and lyrics, video and any artwork or visuals) that you send to us is covered. 

1. Videos must have a minimum duration of 2 minutes and maximum duration of 4 minutes. All content submissions will be moderated and may be rejected if found to contain any of the following: 

1. Hate speech: Content that promotes discrimination, violence, or hatred against individuals or groups based on politics, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics. 

1. Violence and gore: Content depicting graphic violence, injury, or death. 

1. Sexual content: Explicit sexual content, pornography, or sexually suggestive material. 

1. Harassment and bullying: Content intended to harass, intimidate, or humiliate individuals or groups. 

1. Illegal activities: Content that promotes or depicts illegal activities, including but not limited to drug abuse, terrorism, and criminal behaviour. 

1. Misinformation: Content containing false or misleading information that could cause harm or deceive users. 

1. 3rd party logos or product promotion. Submissions which feature overt branding materials, EG overly prominent brand logos or that serve to promote a third-party brand may be rejected.  

1. Includes trademarks, logos, or copyrighted material not owned by the entrant. 

1. Once a submission has passed moderation, it becomes eligible for entry, proving all other terms and conditions have been met. 

1. Eligible entries will be displayed on the Lounges.tv showcase app for public vote. Registered app users will be able to review and vote for their favourite video performances by swiping left or right on their phone screen within the app. 

1. The top 10% with the highest number of votes (or labelled as “highlighted” by the promoter at its absolute discretion – up to 20 entries maximum) will be shortlisted for judging. Judging criteria will focus on both the songs and/ or instrumental piece potential and the quality of the performance as detailed in 17. 

1. By entering the promotion, you agree and grant us the right to do the following: (i) use your entry, or any part of it, to promote your entry and the competition itself, across Lounges.tv social media channels or any of our platforms or digital channels; (ii) use your entry for a national media coverage as part of our press release distribution. Any additional uses of your entry will be requested.  

1. Within 7 days of the Promotion's closing time, all eligible entries will be reviewed and scored by a panel of Lounges.tv judges, with oversight from an independent adjudicator. Entries will be judged based on the following criteria: 

1. Technical Excellence (50%):

For vocal performances: The quality of the contestant’s vocal delivery, including tone, pitch accuracy, range, control, and expression. 

For instrumental performances: The technical skill, expressiveness, and mastery of the instrument(s). 

For band performances: In addition to the vocal and instrumental elements mentioned above, the cohesion, arrangement, and interplay between band members will also be considered. 

1. Artistic Interpretation (25%):

The contestant’s ability to convey emotion, storytelling, and connection to the material, whether through lyrics, musical phrasing, instrumental skill, or overall delivery. 

1. Overall Performance (25%):

The contestant’s stage presence, charisma, confidence, appearance, audience appeal, and ability to captivate and engage viewers in a video format. 

1. In the event of a tie, the contestant with the highest score in the “Technical Excellence” category will be declared the winner. If there is still a tie, the judges will deliberate and collectively decide the winner based on overall performance and potential. 

1. Once entries have been awarded a score, the 10% will be provided to a VIP panel of judges. The VIP panel will be made up of Lounges.tv judges and overseen by an independent adjudicator. The VIP judging panel will score each entry based on the criteria described in 17 to select the final winner.  

1. All finalists may be invited media interviews with the Promotion Partner the week commencing 10th March, 2025, for editorial inclusion within the Promotion Partner’s media channels at the sole discretion of the Promotion Partner. Dates are subject to change and will be advised to Rockstar Showdown finalists at the earliest opportunity. 

1. The overall Rockstar Showdown winner will be selected based on the scores and panel discussion.  

1. Proof of ID and age will be required for the finalist (passport, driving licence or equivalent). County of residence will be requested from the overall Rockstar Showdown winner for the purpose of the winners list if no objection is received.  

1. The Rockstar Showdown finalist will be contacted by the Promoter after valid claim and the completion of the verification process to arrange fulfilment of their prize.  

1. Entrants who make an entry on someone else’s behalf will be disqualified. 

1. Entries (bulk or otherwise) made from trade, syndicates, consumer groups or third parties will not be accepted. If it becomes apparent that a participant is reposting the same content multiple times or using a computer(s) to circumvent this or any other condition by, for example, the use of ‘script’, ‘brute force’ or any other automated means, that person’s entries will be disqualified, and any prize award will be void. 

1. Incomplete, illegible, invalid or misdirected entries will not be accepted. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of delivery. The Promoter takes no responsibility for entries delayed, incomplete or lost due to technical reasons or otherwise.  

1. Overall Rockstar Showdown Winner’s prize (x1) 

The Rockstar Showdown winner’s prize includes £750 gift voucher from Kenny's Music store for you to invest on your gear. 

1. Profile raising 

Via Lounges.tv socials and campaign including national media coverage. The overall Rockstar Showdown winner will be featured in a national campaign featuring the overall winner and their track on digital billboards advertisements around the country. 

1. There is 1 prize available to be won in total. 

1. In relation to the Best and Overall Rockstar Showdown winner, then in addition to the rights to use the entry at clause 16,  you understand that we may also: (i) interview you and your guest(s) which we may film, photograph and/or record and; (ii) film, photograph and/or record, you and your guest(s) in connection with the Promotion, either by telephone or in person. You agree that we may use such films, recordings and/or photographs for publicity and PR purposes in any and all media, worldwide, as often and for as long as we consider appropriate or desirable, in connection with the Promotion. 

1. You agree that the Promoter, Promotion Partners, and sponsors if applicable may, but are not required to, make your entry available on its website and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the competition. You agree to grant the Promoter and media partners a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the competition entry and any accompanying materials, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the competition entry and any accompanying materials for such purposes. Entrants agree not to assert any moral rights in relation to such use where the moral rights in respect of the content are theirs to assert.  

1. Any other costs and expenses which are not specifically included in the prize descriptions are excluded and will be the sole responsibility of the winners.  

1. The prizes are non-transferable and non-refundable. 

1. No cash or alternative prizes will be provided in whole or in part. We reserve the right to substitute a prize, or part of the Rockstar Showdown Winner’s prize, with another prize of equal or greater value should this be necessary, at our absolute discretion in the event of circumstances outside of our control. 

1. For all enquiries in connection with the Promotion please contact our customer support team via help@lounges.tv.  

1. The Promoter will make available the Rockstar Showdown winner’s surname and county of residence to members of the public or regulators who request such details within 3 months of the closing date of this promotion. Entrants can object to disclosure, or request that disclosure be limited in scope by contacting help@lounges.tv. We may nevertheless disclose the information to the Advertising Standards Authority if required to do so. You may request a copy of the winners list by emailing help@lounges.tv.  

1. The Promoter reserves the right to verify all entries including but not limited to asking for proof of ID (passport, driving licence or equivalent) The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to award a prize or withdraw prize entitlement and/or refuse further participation in the promotion and disqualify the participant where there are reasonable grounds to believe there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the spirit of the promotion, any instructions forming part of this promotion’s entry requirements or otherwise where a participant has gained unfair advantage in participating or won using fraudulent means.  

1. It is the responsibility of the entrant to provide correct, up-to-date details when entering the promotion and on prize acceptance. The Promoter cannot be held responsible for winners failing to supply accurate information which affects prize acceptance or fulfilment of their prize.  

1. By entering a Promotion, you acknowledge that any personal data provided by you in connection with the Promotion will be processed as set out above and in accordance with our Privacy Policy which sets out full details of how we process personal data and how you can exercise your rights as a data subject. Please ensure you have read and understood our Privacy Policy before entering the Promotion https://lounges.tv/support/privacy. If you are required to submit another person’s personal data to enter a Promotion, you must ensure that you have their consent to provide us and our Promotion Partner with their personal data. 

1. Your personal details will at all times be kept confidential and in accordance with current Data Protection legislation. Data will be stored for 3 months after the close of the promotion before deletion. You can request access to your personal data, or have any inaccuracies rectified, by sending an email to help@lounges.tv. By participating in the Promotion, you agree to the use of your personal data as described here. 

1. You may be asked if you want to opt-in to marketing from us when you enter a Promotion. If you choose to opt-in, we will use your personal data for marketing purposes (see Lounges.tv Privacy Policy for more details). You can withdraw your consent to marketing at any time by unsubscribing.  

1. If for any reason any aspect of this promotion is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, network failure, traffic congestion, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter may in its sole discretion cancel, modify or suspend the promotion or invalidate any affected entries.  

1. If any act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these terms and conditions (including but not limited to global or regional health crises, weather conditions, fire, flood, strike, hurricane, industrial dispute, war, terrorist activity, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, epidemic, pandemic, famine, plague or other natural calamities and acts of God), the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations but will always endeavour to minimise the effect to participants in order to avoid undue disappointment. 

1. The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this promotion, the fulfilment of the prizes and/or the use of the prizes, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury, death and fraud) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law. 

1. The Promoter has no control over internet or communication networks and is not liable for any problems associated with them due to traffic congestion, technical malfunction or otherwise. The Promoter will not be held liable to any individual for any fraud committed by any third party nor for any event beyond its control including, but not limited to, user error and any network, computer, hardware or software failures of any kind which may restrict, delay or prevent a participant’s entry to the promotion. 

1. If any of these clauses should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable then it shall be severed and deleted from these terms and conditions and the remaining clauses shall survive and remain in full force and effect. 

1. The Promoter’s decision is final with regard to all promotional matters and no correspondence will be entered into. 

1. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and the Parties hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
