Guidelines on how to deal with improper behaviour from viewers
Lounges is a platform that supports the creative community by providing a space for artists, musicians, and creators to showcase their talent and connect with fans.
However, to ensure a safe and positive environment, we've implemented certain precautions to protect both creators and viewers from abusive or disruptive behaviour.
Creators are encouraged to set clear guidelines and rules for their event/ content to prevent disruptive behaviour. It is also recommended that creators clearly communicate these guidelines to their audience.
In case of any disruptive behaviour, creators have a couple measures to ensure a positive environment.
Banning a viewer's interactions
If a creator suspects a viewer of being disruptive during their stream, they have the option to freeze the viewer. This means that the viewer's ability to interact with the stream is temporarily stopped. They cannot use the chat feature or send reactions.
The freeze only applies to the specific Lounge the viewer is in and their interaction privileges will be restored when they attend the next Lounge. Creators freeze viewers to maintain a positive environment for all users, and it is not intended as a punishment.
The process for banning a viewer on web or app is the same:
Open the right panel by clicking on the panel on the right hand of your screen. Click on the "Audience" tab to see the list of attendees; then click the 3 dots on the selected viewer in particular you would like to ban. You will then have the option to "Ban from chat".
Once you do so, their profile will be under the heading "Banned From Chat" as shown below:
If the behaviour persists or violates the terms of use, they can report the viewer to the Lounges team.
Reporting a Viewer
If you feel like you blocking a viewer is not enough, you can also report them to us. Follow the same procedure as the one for blocking the viewer and select "Report" instead.
You will be prompted to select a reason explaining why you want to report said viewer:

Once you've selected it, click on the "Report" button.
Bans for Viewers
If a viewer is found to be causing severe or frequent disruption and violating the terms of use, they may face a permanent ban from the platform. If a viewer's account is repeatedly frozen by different creators, this can lead to a permanent ban on Lounges.
